Iiiiiii am new to knitting. This is my first intermediate pattern. I feel like I am epically failing at this pattern and trying to tell myself that It’s okay. I have to repeat the pattern stitch 3 more times and then start shaping the top. I didn’t have any round 7’s to start (only round 9’s and 13’s) so I figured i’d learn how to seam while I’m at it. I’m terrified this hat is going to come out so ugly. I’m doing mine in the lavender flickr color. and now i’m regretting not going with the neutral color. And the yarn “ain’t cheap”. I knew i was in trouble when I was supposed to have 111 stitches at one point and I only had 92. If you have any tips with this hat, please please please share. P.S Your hat looks great.

The good thing about a project that you’re unhappy with when using nice yarn is that you can unravel it and retry it if you don’t like the finished project. But I hope that won’t be the case, and that you’ll be pleasantly surprised. If you’d like, you can send me an email here with a picture and I can see if/where I can help!

Can you tell me what size circular needles you used

I used size US7 dpn’s for the brim, and a size US9 16″ circular for the body with size US9 dpn’s to finish the top (although you could just use the magic loop with your circular needle).
